Job Description

Our client, a manufacturing organization, is seeking an Interim Accountant - Costing and General Accounting to join their team. As an Interim Accountant - Costing and General Accounting, you will be part of the Accounting and Finance Department supporting the Accounting, Operations, and Cross-Functional Project Teams during a key ERP implementation. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent collaboration abilities which will align successfully in the organization.

Costing and General Accounting Location:
Marengo, IL (McHenry County, IL) - Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)
Pay Range:
$30-45/hr What's the Job?
  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, analyze financial data, and support month-end close activities
  • Conduct variance analysis, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions
  • Assist with product costing activities, including tracking production costs, updating standard costs, and analyzing cost variances
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives, including ERP implementation support, product launches, and cost improvement projects What's Needed?
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of cost accounting concepts, including standard costing and variance analysis
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs
  • Experience working with ERP systems and strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills What's in it for me?
