Position Overview Drecisco is seeking an experienced Pre-Roll Production Lead to join our production team in Marengo, Illinois. The Pre-Roll Production Lead is a hands-on working lead responsible for the day-to-day operation and coordination of the pre-roll production line. This position actively participates in production while providing direction to Production Operators assigned to the line and helping ensure production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established quality and compliance standards. Candidates should have previous hands-on experience producing cannabis pre-rolls, with a particular focus on knockbox-based pre-roll production . The Pre-Roll Production Lead is expected to understand the complete production process, including flower preparation and milling, cone preparation, material loading, knockbox operation, filling, packing, finishing, weight verification, quality control, and preparation of finished products for packaging. This is not solely a packaging or supervisory position. The Pre-Roll Production Lead is expected to actively work on the line, understand how to consistently produce high-quality pre-rolls, train and support other operators, identify production issues, and keep the line operating effectively. Key Responsibilities Pre-Roll Production & Line Operation Set up, operate, and clean knockbox equipment used in pre-roll production. Prepare and mill cannabis flower to the appropriate consistency for production. Prepare cones and cannabis material for knockbox production. Properly load cones and cannabis material into the knockbox and perform filling and packing processes. Finish pre-rolls by inspecting, weighing, closing, and preparing completed units for packaging. Adjust production techniques based on flower characteristics, grind consistency, material flow, cone fill, and finished-product quality. Monitor finished pre-rolls for consistency in weight, density, appearance, construction, and overall quality. Identify and address common production issues, including inconsistent weights, loose or overly dense fills, damaged cones, poor closures, and inconsistent finished products. Perform routine quality checks throughout production and promptly address or report deviations and quality concerns. Line Leadership & Coordination Lead the day-to-day operation of the pre-roll production line and coordinate workflow among employees assigned to the line. Work directly alongside Production Operators while providing guidance and direction throughout the production process. Coordinate daily line setup, production runs, changeovers, cleaning, and shutdown activities. Organize workflow and prioritize daily production activities based on production schedules and direction from the Director of Operations. Monitor line performance, production output, product quality, and material usage throughout the production process. Train and support Production Operators on proper pre-roll production techniques, knockbox operation, equipment use, SOPs, quality expectations, safety requirements, and documentation. Reinforce established production procedures, PPE requirements, sanitation practices, quality standards, and safety expectations with employees assigned to the line. Identify production bottlenecks, quality concerns, equipment problems, material issues, or other conditions affecting line performance and take appropriate action or escalate concerns to the Director of Operations. Communicate production status, downtime, staffing needs, quality concerns, and other operational issues to the Director of Operations. Promote accountability, teamwork, organization, and consistent production practices across the pre-roll line. Inventory, Documentation & Compliance Accurately document cannabis material usage, production quantities, waste, adjustments, and finished goods in required inventory and compliance systems. Verify required production records, counts, material usage, and waste documentation are completed accurately and on time. Maintain proper identification, handling, and control of cannabis material throughout the production process. Minimize unnecessary material loss and ensure cannabis material is accurately accounted for throughout production. Properly handle, weigh, and document cannabis waste according to established procedures. Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to production, inventory handling, sanitation, quality, waste, and equipment operation. Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary equipment, tools, workstations, and production areas. Follow all facility security, safety, PPE, sanitation, and access-control requirements. Assist with counting, labeling, packaging, and preparation of finished products as needed. Report equipment malfunctions, damaged equipment, downtime, discrepancies, or other production concerns promptly. Assist with equipment cleaning, basic preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting as trained and authorized. Support other production functions as assigned based on operational needs. Schedule & Availability The standard schedule for this position is Monday through Friday . Production schedules may vary based on manufacturing demands, order volume, product launches, equipment availability, and other operational needs. Occasional overtime, extended workdays, early starts, late work, and weekend work may be required to support production schedules and business needs. When work outside of the employee's normal schedule is required, scheduling will be communicated in advance whenever reasonably possible. Because this is a non-exempt position, employees are expected to accurately record all time worked in accordance with company policy. Required Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age. Previous hands-on experience producing cannabis pre-rolls is required. Demonstrated understanding of the complete pre-roll production process, including flower preparation, milling, filling, packing, finishing, weight verification, and quality control. Ability to recognize and address common pre-roll production and quality issues. Ability to provide day-to-day direction, training, and support to employees assigned to the production line. Ability to organize workflow and maintain production efficiency while actively participating in production. Ability to accurately weigh, count, document, and handle regulated cannabis material. Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently follow and reinforce established production specifications and written procedures. Ability to work efficiently while maintaining product quality, consistency, safety, and compliance. Basic math and measurement skills. Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory, production, and compliance systems. Ability to communicate production concerns, discrepancies, equipment issues, staffing needs, and quality concerns promptly and professionally. Reliable attendance and ability to maintain a consistent work schedule. Must meet all applicable requirements for employment within an Illinois licensed cannabis facility. Preferred Experience Direct experience operating a knockbox or similar cone-filling system. Previous experience serving as a lead, trainer, or experienced operator within a production environment. Experience producing pre-rolls in a commercial or licensed cannabis production facility. Experience working with different flower characteristics and understanding how material consistency, moisture, and grind can affect pre-roll production. Experience operating automated or semi-automated production equipment. Familiarity with METRC or another seed-to-sale inventory system. Experience with weighing, batching, inventory control, quality inspections, and production documentation. Mechanical aptitude and comfort performing basic equipment troubleshooting. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Physical Requirements Ability to stand or sit for extended periods during production activities. Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements associated with pre-roll production and packaging. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and perform other movements associated with production work. Ability to safely work around manufacturing and production equipment. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment for the duration necessary to perform assigned tasks. Ability to work around cannabis plant material, dust, and other conditions commonly present in a production environment.

Compensation & Benefits Compensation:

$23.00-$25.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
