Location:
Hybrid NYC Assignment length: 4 months Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Fixed Asset Accounting Manager to oversee fixed asset accounting activities, manage an outsourced accounting team, and ensure compliance with US GAAP and SOX requirements. This role will partner closely with Finance, IT, and operational teams to support the monthly close process, financial reporting, audits, and continuous process improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Review all fixed asset transactions processed by the outsourced accounting team, including asset setup, retirements, transfers, impairments, and capital expenditure requests, ensuring compliance with US GAAP (ASC 360). Manage and develop an outsourced accounting team by conducting regular status reviews, monitoring KPIs, and providing ongoing performance feedback. Lead the monthly fixed asset close process, ensuring timely completion of deliverables and accurate financial reporting. Review depreciation calculations, accruals, reconciliations, and fixed asset roll forwards for accuracy and completeness. Partner with FP&A, Visual Merchandising, IT, and other cross-functional stakeholders on capital projects, reporting requirements, and special initiatives. Review net book value reporting and support impairment assessments. Prepare fixed asset disclosures and supporting schedules for annual financial filings. Coordinate internal and external audit requests and serve as the primary point of contact for fixed asset-related audit activities. Research and resolve accounting issues by maintaining a detailed understanding of fixed asset processes and transaction flows. Ensure compliance with SOX 404 requirements through effective internal controls and documentation. Maintain and update process documentation, including SOPs, risk control matrices, and accounting narratives. Prepare quarterly reporting and analysis related to fixed assets, capital expenditures, and cloud computing projects for senior leadership. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Accounting experience, including significant exposure to fixed asset accounting. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and fixed asset accounting principles. Demonstrated experience managing teams, including outsourced or shared service resources. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables. Preferred Qualifications Public accounting experience, preferably with Big Four firms. Retail industry experience. Experience with
SAP S/4HANA.
Experience with Hyperion and SmartView. Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal control frameworks. Key Attributes Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
