In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of financial data, streamline accounting processes, and uphold the highest standards of accuracy and transparency. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory standards. Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliation. Conduct bank reconciliations and cash flow analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting. Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections. Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements. Utilize financial software such as PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, or similar platforms to maintain accurate records and generate reports. Perform detailed Excel data analysis using functions like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and spreadsheets for financial reporting and forecasting. Assist in regulatory reporting obligations related to securities law, governmental accounting standards, or other compliance frameworks. Mentor junior team members in technical accounting practices, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial management activities to optimize resource allocation. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred. Proven experience in financial accounting within a corporate or public accounting setting. Strong understanding of
GAAP, SOX
compliance, regulatory requirements, and financial concepts such as debits & credits and double-entry bookkeeping. Proficiency with accounting software including PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, Quicken or similar systems; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Demonstrated ability in financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, and financial analysis techniques such as Excel data analysis and forecasting. Experience with account reconciliation processes including bank reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation. Knowledge of securities law, governmental accounting standards, non-profit accounting practices (LIHTC), or Wills & Trusts law is a plus. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail; ability to interpret complex financial data accurately. Strong communication skills for mentoring team members and collaborating across departments.
