Description We are looking for an AR Accountant to join a rapidly expanding organization on a Contract basis for a 3-month engagement, with the possibility of extension. This fully remote opportunity supports the accounting team during a critical period and is based out of San Francisco, California. The position will play an important role in keeping receivables current, supporting close activities, and resolving account issues across a high-volume customer portfolio.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to monthly close activities by preparing reconciliations, validating balances, and helping ensure timely completion of accounting deliverables.
• Oversee accounts receivable and collection efforts while also assisting with accounts payable processing and bank account reconciliations.
• Research complex customer account variances by reviewing large transaction-level datasets and identifying the source of outstanding issues.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and external collection partners to address disputes, recover past-due balances, and improve resolution timelines.
• Track aging reports closely, prioritize delinquent accounts, and follow up on balances that remain open beyond standard payment terms.
• Analyze high-value customer accounts with significant transaction volume and summarize findings for accounting and finance leadership.
• Use systems and reporting tools such as Google Sheets, Excel, and NetSuite to organize financial data and support day-to-day accounting operations.
• Communicate clearly across teams in a fast-paced environment while independently managing multiple investigations and shifting priorities.

• Requirements
• At least 3 years of accounting experience, including substantial exposure to accounts receivable and collections.
• Demonstrated knowledge of month-end close, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger support.
• Prior experience in the financial services or payments sector is required.
• Ability to work through large, detailed datasets and perform account analysis across high transaction volumes.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet-based analysis tools such as Excel and Google Sheets; NetSuite experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal and external teams.
• Self-directed, organized, and resourceful approach to problem solving in a high-visibility, fast-moving environment.
