In-House CPA / Senior Accountant (Full-Time to Part-Time Transition)

Construction Job Overview We are seeking an experienced CPA or Senior Accountant to work directly with a growing construction company to organize, clean up, and strengthen our accounting systems and financial operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on involvement in a business, can provide strategic financial guidance, and is capable of building efficient accounting structure for long-term success. We are specifically looking for individualized attention and partnership rather than outsourcing to a large accounting firm. The position will likely require substantial hours during the initial cleanup and restructuring phase, with the opportunity to transition into a more flexible ongoing role afterward. Responsibilities Perform accounting cleanup and reconciliation Review and improve financial systems and processes Organize bookkeeping and reporting structure Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Oversee or advise on payroll, taxes, and compliance Help create scalable systems for future company growth Provide direct, hands-on financial guidance to ownership Qualifications CPA preferred, but highly experienced accountants will also be considered Strong knowledge of accounting operations and business finance Experience working with construction companies is a plus Ability to work independently and communicate directly with ownership Organized, strategic, and solution-oriented mindset Experience with growing or restructuring businesses is highly valued Ideal Candidate This position may be a great fit for: A semi-retired CPA or accountant looking for meaningful project-based work An experienced financial professional seeking a flexible long-term role A business-minded accountant with startup or operational experience Someone seasoned in multiple facets of business operations and financial management Compensation Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and interview discussion.
