Position Summary The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting the daily accounting operations of the company, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, expense management, journal entries, and monthly close activities. This role works closely with the Director of Accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient accounting processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts payable processes, including check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
  • Manage Navan expense management and travel booking processes
  • Review, audit, and process employee expense reports in accordance with company policies
  • Perform reconciliations for company credit cards and bank accounts
  • Update accounts receivable records and prepare customer invoices
  • Prepare and maintain commission reports
  • Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts and general ledger schedules
  • Prepare account analyses and supporting documentation as requested
  • Assist with sales tax, GET tax, and 1099 filings to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Maintain organized accounting records and documentation
  • Support internal and external audit requests as needed
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned Qualifications Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
  • 1-3 years of general accounting experience preferred
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and standard accounting practices
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal accounting and tax regulations
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, MediaOS and Asana or similar accounting software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite Skills and Competencies
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new systems and processes Work Environment
