MIP Accountant

MIP Accountant - 40 an hr. About the Role Beacon Hill is partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit organization in Central New Jersey seeking a Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager. This individual will lead a team of 4 accountants and play a key role in financial operations, reporting, and strategic support. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering strong remote flexibility, with occasional in-office presence required on an as-needed basis. Candidates must be located in New Jersey to be considered for this role, within a reasonable commute. Experience with MIP is required. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting operations Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with nonprofit standards Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Oversee grant accounting and compliance reporting Ensure accuracy of general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries Coordinate and lead annual audits and liaise with external auditors Monitor cash flow and financial health of the organization Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes Oversee payroll review and approval processes Qualifications 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within the nonprofit sector Hands-on experience with MIP Accounting Software (required) Strong proficiency with Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups) Strong understanding of
