Position Overview As a Part-time Accountant at Optimum Crush, you will play a vital role in the financial health of our business. Reporting to the Controller, you'll take ownership of core accounting tasks such as processing invoices, managing accounts receivable and payable, preparing deposits, and supporting month-end close. This is the perfect opportunity for a numbers-driven professional who loves precision, problem-solving, and playing a behind-the-scenes role in company success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. 1. Maintain accounts receivables (AR) system; invoice customers; compile and sort incoming checks; input cash received and prepare bank deposit. 2. Deposit payments received into the Company bank account. 3. Maintain accounts payables (AP) system; verify invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents; resolve discrepancies; request checks to pay invoices. 4. Prepare and mail out checks. 5. Perform tasks associated with the general ledger, i.e. creating and entering monthly journal entries, creating monthly closing entries, creating month-end general ledger. 6. Reconcile bank accounts and other company financial accounts; investigate discrepancies in accounts and make corrections as needed. 7. Performs other duties as requested. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience Requires an Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field and two or more years of relevant accounting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting experience. Accounting Knowledge, Technical Skills, and Competencies Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and standard accounting practices in AP, AR, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures. Ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies and potential issues, evaluate alternatives, and exercise sound judgment in resolving problems. Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through. Ability to use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to carry out daily tasks. Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, documentation, and business correspondence and to communicate effectively with employees, customers, vendors, management, and other external parties.
