Controller Part-Time:
20-25 hours/week with flexible/hybrid schedule Position Summary The Staff Accountant supports the financial health and stewardship of Pinnacle Forum by maintaining accurate financial records, supporting monthly reporting, and helping ensure sound accounting practices and internal controls. Working closely with the Controller, this role manages essential day-to-day accounting functions while contributing to budgeting, audit preparation, Board reporting, and other financial processes. This role is well suited for an experienced accounting professional who is detail-oriented, trustworthy, and comfortable working independently within a small, mission-driven team. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Operations Process accounts payable and accounts receivable accurately and on time. Complete monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Maintain accurate accounting for restricted funds. Support accurate recording and reconciliation of financial activity. Assist with payroll and other financial administrative processes as needed. Support HR reporting and compliance, including maintaining accurate employee records and assisting with required filings. Support other HR-related administrative needs, such as onboarding and offboarding documentation and benefits administration. Financial Reporting & Planning Prepare monthly financial statements and cash flow statements. Assist the Controller with annual budgeting and ongoing budget monitoring. Prepare financial summaries and supporting information for Board reporting. Help ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and useful for organizational decision-making. Audit, Compliance & Internal Controls Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for annual audits and Form 990 preparation, including functional expense reporting. Support compliance with applicable nonprofit accounting standards and procedures. Help establish, document, and follow internal controls that protect the organization's financial assets and information. Maintain organized financial records and documentation to support audit readiness. Organizational Support Review organizational insurance policies and assist in obtaining renewal quotes. Maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive financial, employee, donor, and organizational information. Collaborate with the Controller and other staff as needed to support Pinnacle Forum's financial operations. Qualifications Previous professional accounting experience required. Proficiency with QuickBooks required. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred, including familiarity with nonprofit accounting regulations and procedures. Experience preparing or supporting financial reporting for a Board of Directors preferred. Audit experience and working knowledge of GAAP preferred. Payroll and HR experience desired. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities, work independently, and follow through reliably. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor. Ability to flourish in a small, collaborative team environment. Commitment to Pinnacle Forum's mission and values.
