Based in DeForest, Wisconsin, with over 35 years of experience, we help contractors and owners deliver faster, more cost-efficient projects through integrated planning, design, prefabrication, and installation. Right now we're looking for a sharp, hands-on accounting pro — part-time, mostly in person near Madison — who shows the Initiative and True Grit customers of all types and sizes have come to expect from Wall-tech. You'll own day-to-day accounting and Spectrum entry. Our CPA partner still handles monthly and quarterly closes, year-end, and tax returns.
HERE'S HOW YOU'LL BE HELPING THE TEAM
We'll count on you to keep the financial engine humming without drama.
Critical activities include:
Owning day-to-day AP, AR, and general ledger hygiene in a construction environment Entering, reconciling, and keeping accurate data in Spectrum (Viewpoint/Trimble) — job cost, invoices, payments, and related transactions Supporting payroll and vendor processes so people and suppliers get paid right and on time Pulling reports and flagging issues early so project and shop leaders aren't flying blind Partnering with our outside CPA on documentation and prep for monthly/quarterly closes, year-end, and tax — you feed the process; they own the close and returns Building simple, reliable routines and checklists so the books stay audit-ready Occasional remote work for flexibility; core expectation is in-person near Madison / DeForest
DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?
Solid accounting experience (staff accountant, bookkeeper, or similar) — construction or manufacturing preferred Hands-on comfort with Spectrum strongly preferred; strong construction GL experience (or adjacent ERP) plus willingness to ramp on Spectrum also considered Sharp with Excel and the usual Office tools; detail-oriented without getting stuck Comfortable owning day-to-day work while an outside CPA owns closes and tax Available part-time, primarily on-site in the Madison / DeForest area; occasional remote OK Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship You're team-oriented and embrace
