Our Values:
Innovation, Integrity, Learning, Communication, Teamwork, Belonging, and FUN Project Accountant The Project Accountant manages project accounting activities throughout the full project lifecycle, including project setup, contract administration, billing, work-in-progress (WIP), accounts receivable, revenue support, forecasting, subconsultant financial management, and project closeout. This role partners closely with Project Managers to provide accurate financial information and support strong project performance.

May supervise junior staff and interns. What You'll Do Set up projects, contracts, budgets, billing terms, amendments, and change orders in the ERP system Prepare client invoices in accordance with contract terms and established billing schedules Review project labor, expenses, and subconsultant costs for accuracy and billing support Review and reconcile WIP and unbilled balances, coordinating needed action with Project Managers Monitor project budgets, fees, costs, backlog, accounts receivable, profitability, and overall financial performance Support monthly revenue recognition and financial close activities with accurate project data Maintain project forecasts and backlog information in coordination with Project Managers Monitor accounts receivable and coordinate collection or billing issues with Project Managers Track subconsultant commitments, invoices, and costs against contracts and budgets Provide project financial reports and insights to Project Managers and leadership Identify and communicate project financial risks, overruns, aging WIP, billing holds, and potential write-offs Coordinate financial project closeout, including final billing, WIP, accounts receivable, subconsultant costs, and ERP status Maintain project financial documentation and support audit and client reporting needs Support process improvements, ERP data accuracy, and cross-training with junior accounting staff What You Bring Experience in project accounting and financial analysis ERP system knowledge (Deltek Ajera, Unanet, or similar platforms) Strong understanding of work-in-progress (WIP) management Experience with revenue recognition and project billing Familiarity with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and collections support Skilled in financial reporting and project financial tracking Ability to monitor budgets and analyze profitability Strong organizational and analytical skills Clear communication and collaboration with Project Managers Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills What We Value At HCL, we're accountable for our work, we bring accuracy and integrity to everything we touch, and we believe in collaborating across teams to get the job done right.
