Job Description

Role Overview The Revenue Cycle Associate is responsible for supporting core revenue cycle operations through accurate and timely completion of assigned work related to insurance verification, claims resolution, payment reconciliation, and supporting account maintenance activities. This role operates within a unified Revenue Cycle Operations team and is expected to maintain a primary functional focus while also supporting holistic departmental needs. Revenue Cycle Associates will be cross trained in all areas to ensure departmental goals are met. Revenue Cycle Associates contribute to operational accuracy, timely reimbursement, and positive client financial experiences by following established workflows, maintaining strong documentation standards, and escalating issues appropriately. This role reports directly to the Director of Revenue Cycle Operations and works closely with Senior Associates and other operational resources for workflow guidance, training support, and escalation assistance. Essential Functions 1. Revenue Cycle Operations Revenue Cycle Associates are responsible for completing assigned operational work while maintaining flexibility to support additional workflows as needed.
Core operational responsibilities may include:
Insurance Verification & Eligibility Perform initial and re-verification of insurance eligibility and benefits using payer portals, phone outreach, VerifyTX, and other available resources Review and verify patient insurance coverage details, benefits, and plan limitations Verify coordination of benefits for patients with multiple insurance plans Identify missing or incomplete insurance information and follow up as needed Prepare and send Good Faith Estimates for private pay or direct pay clients when applicable Communicate verification results or benefits information to clients and internal teams as required Claims Resolution & Follow-Up Follow up on denied, rejected, or unpaid insurance claims Research denial reasons and determine appropriate next steps based on payer guidance and internal workflows Submit claim corrections, rebills, reconsiderations, or appeals as appropriate Update account information, insurance details, or claim-related data within Tebra or related systems Maintain clear and accurate documentation of claim activity and resolution efforts Payment Reconciliation & Account Maintenance Post insurance and patient payments accurately and timely Reconcile payment discrepancies and investigate missing or misapplied payments Perform secondary payment reviews and overpayment analysis Submit overpayment appeals or research requests when discrepancies are identified Process bankruptcy receipts, approved write-offs, and other account adjustments in accordance with office policy 2. Workflow Support & Cross-Training Revenue Cycle Associates will maintain competency in multiple departmental workflow areas. Supporting assigned additional workflow tasks as operational needs require Completing cross-training activities and maintaining competency in departmental functions
  • Expanding workflow knowledge over time based on departmental needs, business priorities, and development plans
  • Participating in training or skill-building initiatives related to broader Revenue Cycle functions 3. Documentation & Workflow Compliance Revenue Cycle Associates are responsible for maintaining clear, accurate, and compliant documentation across all assigned workflows. Documenting work accurately and thoroughly within Tebra, Salesforce, and related systems
  • Maintaining complete ledger notes, case notes, and workflow documentation
  • Following established SOPs, internal workflows, and payer requirements
  • Escalating unclear, conflicting, or high-risk issues appropriately 4.
Operational Support & Team Collaboration Revenue Cycle Associates contribute to a collaborative and flexible operational environment. Communicating effectively with internal team members, clinicians, and clients as appropriate Responding to workflow questions or requests for information in a timely manner Assisting with operational initiatives, workflow updates, or testing activities as assigned Additional Responsibilities In support of departmental operations, the Revenue Cycle Associate may also: Assist with special projects or process improvement efforts Perform other duties as assigned Cross-Functional Collaboration This role works closely with:

Verification follow-up Claims or payment-related communication as appropriate Daily Expectations On a typical day, this role will: Complete assigned operational work within primary workflow responsibilities Support secondary or back-up workflow tasks as needed Maintain accurate and timely documentation Escalate issues appropriately when barriers or unusual scenarios arise Follow established workflows, quality standards, and productivity expectations This role is expected to be detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of balancing workflow accuracy with operational efficiency. Performance Metrics & Accountability (KPIs) Performance in this role is evaluated based on operational accuracy, productivity, and workflow adherence. Operational Performance Productivity and timeliness of assigned workload Completion of assigned tasks within expected turnaround times Responsiveness to workflow needs and operational priorities Accuracy & Documentation Accuracy of claims, payments, and verification work Documentation completeness and quality Adherence to workflows and SOPs Adaptability & Collaboration Maintenance of competency in primary and secondary workflow areas Participation in cross-training and skill development Appropriate escalation and collaboration across team functions What Success Looks Like Accurate and timely completion of assigned work Strong documentation and workflow compliance

Further, there may be times where you will be asked to come to the office for training sessions, meetings, company events, or other necessary functions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required 2 years of experience in revenue cycle operations, customer support, operations, healthcare, or a related field Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and warmly Strong verbal communication skills and comfort engaging directly with insurance companies via different platforms Demonstrated strong customer service skills with a friendly, empathetic, helpful, and therapist-centered approach Technical aptitude and willingness to learn new systems, workflows, and tools Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and cases simultaneously Interest in healthcare, behavioral health, or provider-facing operations preferred
Pay:
$40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
