Overview We are seeking a Staff Accountant with excellent customer service skills to manage a portfolio of senior housing communities, serving as a primary financial liaison for on-site personnel and senior housing management. The Staff Accountant will collaborate closely with an internal team of Senior Accountants, Controllers, Assistant Controllers, and Project Managers to deliver high-quality financial support and insights to clients. Responsibilities Prepare and oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. Review and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations. Coordinate with external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations. Stay updated with industry best practices and accounting standards, ensuring the company's accounting practices are current. Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making by senior management. Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed. Requirements 4+ years of progressive experience in accounting. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles. Experience with Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Yardi, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks). Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills. This is a hybrid role, with Mondays and Fridays designated as work-from-home days and Tuesdays through Thursdays based in our Chesterfield office.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
