Senior Accountant Sugar Land, TX | Contract-to-Hire Hybrid Schedule | Free Parking | Immediate Interviews LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a confidential client seeking a Senior Accountant to lead a portfolio of accounting activities while mentoring Staff Accountants and partnering closely with operations leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant who enjoys solving complex issues, leading others, and taking ownership beyond the traditional month-end close process. Responsibilities Lead month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger activities Perform complex account reconciliations and revenue analysis Ensure revenue transactions are accurately reflected in the general ledger Research discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions Review journal entries and financial records for accuracy and compliance Partner with operations and leadership to resolve accounting challenges Mentor and guide 1-3 Staff Accountants within an assigned accounting pod Assist with budgeting, audits, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives Utilize Excel and ERP systems to analyze data and support decision-making Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification Strong full-cycle accounting experience Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis Experience with JD Edwards or another ERP system preferred Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting Ability to prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environment What the Hiring Manager Wants We're looking for someone who: Has strong accounting fundamentals and critical-thinking skills Can remain calm and effective during month-end close Enjoys digging into reconciliation issues and finding long-term solutions Knows how to delegate and develop junior staff Can confidently communicate with stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization Takes ownership and doesn't need constant direction Schedule & Location Sugar Land, TX Free parking In office Monday through Thursday Remote Fridays Contract-to-hire opportunity Interviews available immediately Projected start date:
