Senior Accountant Avon, OH (hybrid) 85,000-105,000 We are seeking an experienced, initiative-taking and detail-oriented Senior Accountant (corporate focus) to join our team and work primarily with our corporate clients. This position is ideal for a professional with a strong commitment to client service and a desire to contribute meaningfully to a growing firm. The Senior Accountant will manage complex client engagements, provide advanced accounting and tax expertise, and mentor other staff.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities Manage Client Engagements:
Manage, execute, and review client engagements, including financial statements and compilations.
Manage Complex Tax:
Prepare and review corporate and partnership returns ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Prepare and review estate, trust, gift, and individual tax returns is helpful but not required.
Deliver Advisory Services:
Provide strategic planning and advisory services to clients, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and enhanced revenue.
Oversee Accounting Processes:
Perform complex account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end and year-end close processes.
Train and Develop Staff:
Mentor and provide guidance to Staff and Junior Accountants on assignments and professional development.
Build Client Relationships:
Cultivate and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients, proactively addressing their needs and questions. Contribute to
Firm Growth:
Assist with business development and networking activities to grow the firm's client base.
Ensure Regulatory Compliance:
Stay up to date on changes in tax laws and accounting regulations (GAAP).
Senior Accountant Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
Certification:
CPA license is strongly preferred but not required.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in a public accounting firm or equivalent work is essential.
Software Proficiency:
Experience with various accounting software programs (e.g., QuickBooks, UltraTax, Accounting CS, Office Tools, and TaxDome) is a plus. Expert knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
Analytical Skills:
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to clients.
Leadership:
Demonstrated supervisory and team-building skills.
Organization:
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
