Hybrid Schedule ??? Government/Municipal Environment ?? Immediate Need We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a small, collaborative accounting team supporting a government/municipal organization. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can quickly contribute to month-end, year-end, audit preparation, and general ledger activities. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain general ledger accounting functions. Perform month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare and reconcile journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports. Support annual audit activities and gather required audit documentation. Assist with capital asset accounting, including tracking capital asset expenditures and related reporting. Analyze financial data and ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and internal controls. Collaborate with department leaders and finance team members on financial reporting and accounting initiatives. Provide support for special projects and process improvements as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a senior-level role. Experience with general ledger accounting, month-end close, year-end close, and audit support. Capital asset accounting experience highly preferred. Government, city, county, municipal, or public sector accounting experience is strongly preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working with legacy accounting systems; experience with Springbrook is a plus but not required. System-savvy with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
