San Diego, CA - Hybrid Opportunity Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting team. This position will play a key role in external financial reporting, the financial statement close, technical accounting research, audit support, and SOX compliance. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 2 years in public accounting, with Big 4 experience strongly preferred. Candidates should have a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, technical accounting research, and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Key Responsibilities Support quarterly and annual SEC reporting, including 10-Qs, 10-Ks, earnings releases, tie-outs, and XBRL review Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations across areas such as investments, leases, debt, equity, and stock-based compensation Assist with preparation of consolidated financial statements, including statements of equity and cash flows Support SOX compliance and internal control activities for assigned processes Research and interpret current and emerging U.S. GAAP and technical accounting guidance Prepare technical accounting memos related to transactions and adoption of new accounting standards Assist with maintaining and developing accounting policies Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures Support audits and other accounting-related projects as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 2 years in public accounting Big 4 public accounting experience CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting research Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams Proficiency with Microsoft Office Experience working with biotech or life sciences companies/clients SEC reporting and filing software experience, such as Broadridge Experience with SAP or another ERP system BlackLine, Equity Edge Online, Clearwater, or OneStream experience Public company SEC reporting experience
