Job Description:
Senior Accountant We are currently seeking candidates for a Senior Accountant opportunity with a highly successful Venture Capital firm located in Boston, MA. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for performing month-end close processes, assisting with treasury activities, contributing to process improvement efforts, and maintaining GAAP compliance. The ideal candidate will have 5-8+ years of hands-on corporate accounting experience. Previous experience utilizing NetSuite and Concur is required. This is a 3-6+ month contract-to-hire opportunity, paying between $55-$65/hour (depending on experience). This role supports a hybrid work model.
Responsibilities:
Perform month-end close activities, including account reconciliations, management reporting, quarterly reporting, and US GAAP financial reporting for the Management Company and its subsidiaries. Manage journal entries, book cash, and oversee general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial data. Assist with treasury management, including daily cash reporting and cash reconciliations. Create recurring and required month-end journal entries for review, including expensing prepaid items, fixed assets, depreciation, recognizing deferred revenue, amortization, and additional payroll and operating accruals. Support process enhancement efforts related to financial operations and accounts payable workflows (invoice processing, expense reimbursement, and payables reconciliation). Review and monitor internal controls, and contribute to new technology implementations. Provide additional support as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required). CPA certification (preferred). 5-8+ years of hands-on corporate accounting experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Previous experience utilizing NetSuite and Concur. Strong technical accounting skills and a strong understanding of GAAP. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize competing needs, and meet deadlines.
