Senior Property Accountant This individual will be responsible for assisting in the monthly close process, technical accounting research, documentation, and the preparation of financial reporting for a portfolio of properties. The portfolio includes more than 100 properties.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Produce monthly financial statements for a portfolio of properties which include an executive summary narrative Prepare several monthly reconciliations and journal entries Reconcile monthly bank statements Review the balance sheet and general ledger and ensure that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled Tenant billing for monthly, quarterly, and annual charges such as rent, CAM, utilities, real estate taxes, insurance, CAM reconciliations, CPI increases, percentage rents, NSF fees and late fees Monitor and process security deposit transfers & refunds for tenants Prepare supporting documentation for annual audits Year-end coordination with CPA/audit firm Review and post CPA year-end adjusting journal entries Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in accounting from an accredited university/college is necessary. 5+ years of property management accounting experience. Proficient understanding of GAAP. Superior skills with Microsoft Excel and Word. Critical thinking, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Work cohesively with other departments and co-workers as part of a team. Ability to work in a fast paced and high-volume environment. Ability to prioritize tasks and workflow. Maintain confidentiality of pertinent company data. Superior time management skills and the ability to work independently. Ability to generate accurate financial reporting due to being detail oriented with superior proofing skills. Yardi software experience/familiarity is a plus.
