Senior Staff Accountant Playa Vista, CA | Hybrid - 1 Day Onsite/Week Full-Time | Nonprofit / Public-Interest Technology We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join a mission-driven, international nonprofit organization focused on supporting a secure, stable, and globally interoperable Internet. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a collaborative, multicultural environment and wants to work with a highly respected organization at the center of the global Internet ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Support month-end and year-end close , including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial analysis. Maintain and analyze General Ledger accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. Prepare financial schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for internal and external reporting. Apply accounting guidance related to ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Leases) . Assist with annual audits and provide supporting schedules and documentation to external auditors. Analyze account activity, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies. Partner with Finance, Accounting, and other departments to improve processes, controls, and reporting. Support accounting activities involving international operations and stakeholders. Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports for management. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Qualifications 5+ years of progressive accounting experience . Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Strong knowledge of GAAP and General Ledger accounting . Hands-on experience with month-end close and account reconciliations . Exposure to ASC 606 and ASC 842 . Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including financial analysis and reporting. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Service-oriented approach with the ability to collaborate across departments and cultures. Preferred Qualifications CPA or CPA candidate/tracking toward certification. Public accounting or external audit experience. Nonprofit accounting experience. International accounting experience.
