You'll support accounting for the organization as a whole, including the financial operations of the Lynnwood Event Center, with exposure to general accounting, event finances, budgeting, financial reporting, capital projects, and long-term planning. You'll also have the opportunity to improve processes, strengthen financial systems, and help develop accounting practices that support accurate, efficient, and responsible financial management. Position Summary The Senior Staff Accountant supports the financial operations of The District across its distinct business lines, including the Lynnwood Event Center, through hands-on accounting, financial analysis, reconciliation, and reporting. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position takes ownership of key accounting functions while helping strengthen financial practices, develop and refine procedures, improve system integrations, and identify opportunities for greater efficiency. This is a hands-on accounting role that works across multiple systems and areas of the organization to maintain accurate and reliable financial information. The Senior Staff Accountant will also play an important role in improving financial processes and supporting the continued development of The District's accounting practices.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage general ledger and bank reconciliations, research discrepancies, and support accurate financial reporting. Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end and year-end close, and other day-to-day accounting functions. Prepare budget-to-actual reporting, financial schedules, and analysis to support organizational decision-making. Support accounting for The District's operations, including event-related finances for the Lynnwood Event Center and capital improvement projects. Assist with annual operating and capital budgets, forecasting, audits, and other financial reviews. Work within NetSuite ERP, Momentus, and other financial systems to maintain accurate financial information and reporting. Help improve accounting procedures, system integrations, automation, and financial workflows. Partner with departments across The District to resolve accounting questions and support accurate and timely financial information. Job Qualifications & Requirements The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: Strong accounting knowledge with experience in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when reviewing financial statements, account activity, and financial data. Experience working with ERP, accounting, or financial management systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and reporting requirements with accuracy and accountability. Strong communication and collaboration skills with both financial and non-financial teams. A hands-on, problem-solving approach with an interest in improving accounting processes and systems. The following will help you stand out: Experience with NetSuite ERP, Momentus, or similar systems. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, audits, or capital project accounting. Experience improving financial processes through automation, system integration, or process design.
