Job Description

(Hybrid remote)
Job:

We are looking for a Senior Tax Accountant who has a strong foundation in tax compliance and is ready to take on greater client responsibility, develop professionally, and become an important part of our tax team.
What You'll Do:
As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will work directly with managers and partners across a diverse client base and have exposure to both tax compliance and advisory work.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and other entities.

Prepare and review quarterly and annual tax projections.

Research federal and state tax issues and assist with tax planning strategies.

Assist clients with tax notices and correspondence with taxing authorities.

Work directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and resolve tax and accounting matters.

Identify potential tax planning opportunities and communicate them to managers and partners.

Review work prepared by staff accountants and provide coaching and feedback.

Assist with training and development of less-experienced team members.

Participate in year-round client planning rather than focusing solely on tax return preparation.

Work closely with firm leadership on complex transactions and unique client matters.

Develop relationships with clients and gradually take ownership of recurring client engagements.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

Approximately 2-5 years of public accounting tax experience.

Strong experience preparing business and individual income tax returns.

Experience reviewing tax returns or readiness to begin taking on review responsibilities.

Solid understanding of federal and state income taxation.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to communicate directly and professionally with clients.

A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of assignments.

CPA license or progress toward obtaining a CPA license preferred.

Experience with complex partnerships, multi-state taxation, transaction-related tax matters, or high-net-worth individuals is a plus but is not required.

Experience:
2+ years of public accounting tax experience preferred.
CPA:
CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
