Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support a media-focused creative marketing agency in a fully remote Contract position based in New York, New York. This project-driven assignment will play a key role in completing year-end and first-quarter financial close activities, ensuring accuracy across core accounting processes. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on expertise in month-end close, general ledger accounting, and Deltek WorkBook within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead critical close activities for designated reporting periods, ensuring financial records are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare and post a high volume of journal entries, including payroll-related and accrual-based transactions.
• Maintain fixed asset accounting records and support accurate tracking, depreciation, and reporting.
• Reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts, investigating discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.
• Perform bank reconciliations and validate supporting documentation to ensure completeness of cash activity.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to organize accounting data needed for timely financial reporting and project completion.
• Use Deltek WorkBook to manage accounting workflows, maintain financial information, and support reporting requirements. Requirements
• Proven experience working as a Senior Accountant in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong background in month-end close and general ledger accounting.
• Hands-on expertise with journal entries, accruals, payroll entries, and fixed asset accounting.
• Demonstrated success performing account, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Required experience using Deltek WorkBook in an accounting capacity.
• Ability to support project-based financial close work with a high level of accuracy and organization.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in reviewing financial data.
