We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support a contract engagement focused on strengthening accounting accuracy and improving system reliability in Carrollton, Texas. Responsibilities:

Evaluate the current condition of the AccountMate environment and identify gaps affecting financial accuracy and reporting dependability. Reconcile key subledger activity to the general ledger, investigate variances, and resolve outstanding discrepancies. Review historical accounting records, correct inconsistencies, and improve the quality and integrity of financial data. Prepare and post journal entries as needed to align balances and support accurate financial statements. Develop practical approaches to strengthen month-end and year-end reconciliation and close activities. Support audit readiness by organizing documentation, validating balances, and helping ensure records can withstand external review. Provide subject matter guidance on accounting system cleanup, troubleshooting, and process improvements related to AccountMate. Work independently with management to prioritize issues, communicate findings, and recommend sustainable corrective actions. 7+ years of accounting experience with strong emphasis on general ledger management and account reconciliation. Demonstrated ability to research, resolve, and document complex balance sheet and subledger discrepancies. Hands-on experience with journal entries, financial close activities, and audit preparation. Background supporting accounting system cleanup, implementation-related issues, or post-go-live stabilization efforts. Familiarity with AccountMate experience is required. Ability to assess accounting processes, identify weaknesses, and recommend practical improvements. Proven success working independently in contract or project-based environments with minimal supervision.
