This is a 2-month contract position100% REMOTESenior Accountant with AccountMate experience (contract position):
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the current condition of the AccountMate environment and identify gaps affecting financial accuracy and reporting dependability.
- Reconcile key subledger activity to the general ledger, investigate variances, and resolve outstanding discrepancies.
- Review historical accounting records, correct inconsistencies, and improve the quality and integrity of financial data.
- Prepare and post journal entries as needed to align balances and support accurate financial statements.
- Develop practical approaches to strengthen month-end and year-end reconciliation and close activities.
- Support audit readiness by organizing documentation, validating balances, and helping ensure records can withstand external review.
- Provide subject matter guidance on accounting system cleanup, troubleshooting, and process improvements related to AccountMate.
- Work independently with management to prioritize issues, communicate findings, and recommend sustainable corrective actions.
