Senior Staff Accountant Hybrid | Cincinnati, OH/Hebron, KY Full-Time | Flexible Schedule About the Role A growing Greater Cincinnati company is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll, and process improvement. This is a full-time hybrid position offering flexibility in how you structure your workweek. Candidates should be local to the Cincinnati area and available to visit the office approximately once per week as business needs require. Reporting to the Head of Finance and Accounting, you'll have significant ownership of accounting activities while partnering with leadership to improve financial processes and support continued company growth. What You'll Do Manage general accounting activities and support an accurate, timely month-end close. Prepare financial reports, variance analyses, and weekly performance metrics. Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and financial data. Manage accruals, adjustments, and journal entries. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Manage biweekly payroll and related payroll and benefits administration. Maintain accurate vendor and customer records. Administer sales tax processes and support tax and regulatory compliance. Identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures. Help transition accounting operations from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online. Improve accounting workflows through automation, technology, and AI-enabled tools. Partner with leadership to strengthen financial controls and improve reporting and operational efficiency. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online; experience with both is preferred. Experience with payroll, AP/AR, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and ability to work independently. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Preferred, but not required: Accounting experience in construction, contracting, project-based services, or manufacturing. Experience transitioning from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online. Experience improving or automating accounting processes. Spanish/English bilingual capabilities.
