Works as a public accountant (prepares financial documents where public disclosure is required by law, such as business balance sheets and tax returns), management accountant (prepares financial information for internal use by a company) or government accountant (maintains records for government agencies).
Monday to Friday (Hybrid) Atlantic Group is hiring a Staff Accountant (Financial Reporting) in Delaware County, PA for our client, supporting corporate accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and consolidated reporting activities. This role provides exposure to acquisition accounting, internal reporting, reserve accounting, financial analysis, and audit support within a large corporate environment. The position will work closely with accounting, FP&A, tax, treasury, and other finance teams while contributing to ongoing financial reporting and integration initiatives. Responsibilities as the Staff Accountant (Financial Reporting):
Month-End Close:
Prepare journal entries, account analyses, and other close-related activities for corporate expenses and accounting areas.
Financial Reporting:
Assist with monthly and quarterly financial statements, management reporting, and consolidated reporting deliverables.
Financial Analysis:
Perform variance and fluctuation analysis across balance sheet and income statement accounts and investigate significant changes.
Acquisition Accounting:
Support accounting and reporting activities related to acquisitions, integrations, and other corporate transactions.
Controls & Compliance:
Assist with financial reporting controls, documentation, testing, and other internal control requirements. Qualifications for the Staff Accountant (Financial Reporting):
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
Certification:
CPA preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of accounting or audit experience within public accounting or a large corporate financial reporting environment required.
Industry Knowledge:
Knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, financial statement preparation, internal controls, and consolidated reporting is required.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, and experience with ERP systems and financial reporting platforms is preferred.
