Remote (computer equipment provided by our firm)Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our firm. The Staff Accountant will be client facing providing services to clients both individuals and businesses. This will include maintaining accurate financial records for clients such as preparing/reviewing accounts payable, generating/reviewing accounts receivable invoices, preparing journal entries, reviewing and preparing payroll, performing bank/credit card/account reconciliations, and completing the monthly closing process. The Staff Accountant will also help assist in the preparation of tax returns/forms for individuals and businesses, including state and federal payroll, compliance forms like 1099s, sales tax, and income tax returns. We understand that a candidate may not possess all the skills needed for this position; however, we are willing to train the right person if they are motivated and willing to learn. This position is part-time, and as the firm grows the possibility of full-time employment may become available. This job can be completed after hours and on weekends, if some portion of client communication is within normal working hours.
Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Ledger & Reporting:
Post transactional banking/account information for clients such as banking transactions. Prepare and post monthly journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and assist in preparing monthly internal financial statements for clients
Reconciliations:
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts and credit cards, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and variances are researched.
Accounts Payable/Receivable:
Support the clients AP/AR functions, such as: processing invoices, expense reports, and cash receipts.
Month-End Close:
Complete the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure financial reports are completed on time.

Tax returns: Assist with data collection and entry for annual state and federal tax returns, reviewing and communicating information with clients, and providing client copies of returns to clients.
Required QualificationsEducation:
Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
Experience:
13 years of accounting experience. Preferred 1-3 years of experience in tax, or the desire to learn.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables) and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of GAAP/accounting. Strong understanding of tax (U.S. and state) preferred.
Skills:
