Full-Time, Direct Hire About the Opportunity We are partnering with a growing organization in the Oak Brook area seeking a Staff Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accountant who has built a solid foundation in general accounting and is ready to gain broader exposure across the accounting function. The team is looking for someone who can contribute to month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, billing, AP/AR, and reporting while continuing to develop toward greater responsibility over time. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to learn . You do not need to have done every responsibility below-the team is willing to train someone who has the right accounting foundation and demonstrates initiative and strong growth potential. What You'll Do Support the monthly close process , including preparing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations and research discrepancies Support the monthly customer billing process , including gathering billing information, preparing invoices, obtaining approvals, and distributing completed invoices Assist with accounts payable , including invoice processing, coding, payment support, and expense-related reconciliations Post cash receipts and assist with accounts receivable activity and reconciliations Prepare and review AP and AR aging reports Assist with Sales & Use Tax reporting and related journal entries Maintain prepaid expense schedules and assist with tracking contract renewals and expirations Prepare reports and perform account research within the company's accounting system Partner with accounting and finance team members to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting Assist with audit requests and supporting documentation Identify opportunities to improve and streamline accounting processes Collaborate with employees across different departments to research and resolve accounting questions Support the Accounting Manager and broader Finance team with additional accounting projects as needed What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field Approximately 1-4 years of accounting experience Hands-on exposure to month-end close Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations Experience with bank reconciliations Exposure to billing, AP, and/or AR Working knowledge of general ledger accounting Experience using an ERP or professional accounting system Intermediate Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and

Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Comfortable researching discrepancies and solving problems independently Strong communication and interpersonal skills Someone who takes initiative and is excited to continue learning Nice to Have Customer or contract billing experience Sales & Use Tax exposure Prepaid expense experience P-card or corporate credit card reconciliations Experience supporting audits Experience improving or automating an accounting process Experience with FinancialForce/Salesforce-based accounting systems The team values people who are curious, dependable, collaborative, and willing to take ownership .
