The Company Great Northern Cabinetry is a manufacturer of high-quality custom cabinetry sold through a network of dealers. The company, which started as a small business in 1972, still operates in its original location in Rib Lake, WI. Great Northern Cabinetry manufactures and sells two lines of cabinetry (face framed and frameless), which are marketed to kitchen and bath dealers, home builders and remodeling contractors. Cabinetry is an $18B segment within the $160B kitchen and bath building products industry. Most of the company's sales are used in single family residential new construction and existing home remodeling projects. Great Northern Cabinetry is a small company today with ambitions to grow. The Position The Staff Accountant is a key member of the finance team at Great Northern Cabinetry, reporting directly to the Director of Finance. This role handles the company's day-to-day accounting and general ledger work.

Duties include:

• Day-to-day general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close tasks.
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Reconciling accounts receivable and accounts payable sub-ledgers to the general ledger, and reviewing aging schedules for accuracy.
• Supporting the setup of new dealer and vendor accounts, including documenting payment terms.
• Reconciling bank and cash accounts.
• Processing bi-weekly payroll.
• Assisting the Director of Finance in developing a cost accounting methodology to improve visibility into product costs.
• Providing backup coverage for accounts payable and accounts receivable processing as needed.

The Candidate Ideally, the selected candidate will have experience in discrete products manufacturing. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently, has strong analytical and communication skills, and is capable of building relationships across the company. A four-year degree in accounting from an accredited college or university is strongly desired.
