Full Time About Us The Montgomery County Land Bank is a not-for-profit, quasi-governmental organization whose mission is to reposition distressed real estate in support of redevelopment in Montgomery County Ohio. Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting the accounting function through journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial operations. Core Responsibilities Financial Transaction Management Perform regular bank statement reconciliations and manage cash handling, including deposits and check recording. Execute full-cycle accounts payable and receivable processes. Record and process invoices, purchase orders, payments, and receipts accurately. Grant & Compliance Support Maintain critical documentation for federal and state grant reimbursements. Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly grant compliance reports. Ensure all activities align with company policies, GAAP, and relevant legal regulations. Reporting & Audit Support Provide essential data and support for annual financial audits. Conduct research to resolve financial inquiries and interpret data for the Controller and Senior Accountant Prepare and distribute financial reports as needed. Administrative Excellence Organize and maintain digital and physical financial records for easy retrieval. Manage general administrative tasks, including data entry and departmental filing. What you Need to
Succeed Education :
Bachelor's degree in accounting .
Technical Proficiency:
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Experience with electronic record-keeping systems. Knowledge of Sage 50 or similar accounting software is preferred.
Expertise:
Strong foundational knowledge of GAAP. Familiarity with the complexities of state and federal grant processing.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational prowess. Ability to prioritize a diverse workload under deadlines. Professional communication skills for interacting with staff and the public. Why Join Us? •
