Job Description
Location:
Located about 10 minutes north of downtown Denver. This position is 100% in office, with remote flexibility available on an exception basis.Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant I supports the Company's day-to-day accounting operations, contributing to accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. This role reports to the Assistant Controller and is a great opportunity for a recent college graduate or early-career accountant to build foundational GL and close experience in a fast-paced, publicly traded environment. The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, and a desire to grow within the accounting function.Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual general ledger account reconciliations including prepaid, intangibles, accruals. Prepare daily/monthly bank reconciliations. Month-end variance analysis. Assist accounting team to complete the monthly/quarterly/yearly accounting close process including journal entry and support schedules tying to the GL to ensure complete, accurate and timely financial reporting. Assist with intercompany transaction recording and reconciliation. Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies. Assist in successful audits with external and internal auditors Work with AP, Payroll, and other departments/branches as needed to resolve any issues. Work with vendors to confirm payment information. Assist with maintaining accurate documentation/support for SOX and audit purposes Crosstrain on multiple GL areas to provide backup coverage during close Perform analysis on ad hoc projects as needed. Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in accounting. (CPA or CPA candidate a plus) § Recent college graduate or up to 3 years of relevant accounting experience. US GAAP knowledge. ERP system knowledge, SAGE preferred but not required. Advanced excel skills. Confident working independently as well as with the team. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization. Attention to detail.
