Tax Accountant

This role offers a hybrid schedule with significant remote flexibility; however, candidates must be local to the area and available to come into the office as needed.
Responsibilities:
+ Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S-corporations, and trusts
+ Analyze financial records and tax documentation to ensure accurate and timely filings
+ Research tax regulations and apply current tax laws to client situations
+ Identify and resolve tax issues while maintaining compliance with federal and state requirements
+ Utilize tax preparation software to complete returns and maintain organized workpapers
+ Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide exceptional service
+ Manage multiple engagements and deadlines throughout the year

- Experience preparing tax returns in a public accounting environment.
- CPA preferred, or actively pursuing CPA licensure
- Working knowledge of individual, partnership, S-corporation, and trust tax filings.
- Proficiency with tax preparation software, including ProSeries.
- Strong understanding of tax preparation processes, documentation standards, and filing deadlines.
- Ability to analyze financial information carefully and identify discrepancies or incomplete records.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients and team members.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
