Certified Public Accountant
Job Description

•Duties Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant regulatory standards. Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing processes. Conduct detailed financial analysis, including cash flow analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to support organizational planning. Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and other regulatory mandates related to financial reporting. Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including bank reconciliations and accounts reconciliation processes. Utilize financial software such as PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, Quicken, and other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to streamline accounting operations. Perform internal audits and assist with external audits to maintain transparency and accuracy in financial reporting. Support regulatory reporting obligations for governmental agencies or non-profit entities. Mentor junior staff members by providing guidance on technical accounting issues and best practices. Maintain thorough documentation of financial transactions, supporting audit readiness and compliance efforts. Skills Proven experience in public accounting, corporate finance, or governmental accounting environments. Strong knowledge of
GAAP, SOX
compliance, and regulatory reporting standards. Proficiency with financial software including PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, Quicken, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and advanced spreadsheet functions such as VLOOKUP. Expertise in double-entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and financial statement preparation. Ability to interpret complex financial data through Excel data analysis techniques for informed decision-making. Familiarity with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), securities law, wills/trusts & estate law is a plus. Excellent analytical skills with the capacity for detailed financial report writing and interpretation. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently. Effective mentoring abilities to support team development in technical accounting areas. This position is integral to maintaining the integrity of our organization's financial operations. Pay:
$100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
