Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly qualified Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic financial team. This pivotal role involves overseeing comprehensive accounting functions, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and providing strategic financial insights. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in public accounting, governmental and non-profit sectors, and demonstrate a strong understanding of financial compliance, technical accounting, and regulatory reporting. As a CPA in our organization, you will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting organizational growth, and mentoring junior staff members. Duties Prepare, analyze, and interpret complex financial statements in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory frameworks. Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and account analyses to ensure accuracy and compliance. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and cash flow analysis. Oversee general ledger accounting activities using accounting software such as PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, or similar platforms. Ensure regulatory compliance by preparing reports related to securities law, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting regulations. Perform internal audits and support external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial report writing to support strategic decision-making. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical accounting standards including SOX compliance, LIHTC regulations, and other relevant laws. Mentor junior staff members by providing guidance on accounting procedures, software utilization (e.g., Microsoft Office spreadsheets), and professional development. Support financial management activities such as journal entries, accruals, account reconciliation, and financial analysis. Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification required; additional credentials in securities law or governmental accounting are advantageous. Minimum of five years' experience in public accounting or corporate finance with a focus on financial reporting and compliance. Extensive knowledge of GAAP principles, double entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting concepts. Proficiency with financial software including PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, Quicken, and other relevant tools. Strong expertise in spreadsheet functions such as VLOOKUP, Excel data analysis techniques, and financial report interpretation. Experience with SOX compliance procedures and LIHTC program regulations preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform detailed account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis accurately. Excellent analytical skills combined with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
