Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations for a health pharm/biotech organization in Charleston, South Carolina. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who can manage complex close activities, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure the integrity of daily accounting processes. The role will play a key part in sustaining reliable reporting through disciplined reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and general ledger oversight.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead month-end close activities by preparing schedules, reviewing balances, and helping ensure deadlines are met accurately and on time.
  • Maintain the general ledger by analyzing account activity, resolving discrepancies, and supporting the accuracy of financial data.
  • Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation in line with accounting policies and reporting requirements.
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations to identify variances, investigate unusual items, and clear outstanding issues promptly.
  • Complete bank reconciliations on a recurring basis to confirm cash activity and ensure alignment between internal records and bank statements.
  • Use NetSuite to manage accounting transactions, review financial information, and support consistent system-based recordkeeping.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to gather financial details, answer accounting questions, and support ongoing reporting needs.
