Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable Greenwood County Treasurer's Office Greenwood County is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable to join our Treasurer's Office team. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the County's financial records through oversight of accounts payable and receivable activities, bank reconciliations, payroll support, journal entry review, and internal financial controls. What You'll Do Review and verify journal entries, receipt batches, and payment approvals. Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies. Conduct accuracy checks and provide oversight of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. Provide backup support for AP and AR operations. Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing and related reporting. Review general ledger activity and prepare correcting journal entries as needed. Provide support to the Deputy Treasurer and assist with other accounting functions as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Two (2) years of general or governmental accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate financial records. Schedule Monday - Thursday 7:45 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Enjoy a four-day work week and a three-day weekend every week.
