Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a partner to the Accounting team in developing and following processes and procedures Heavy involvement in the month-end close process Reconciliation of subledgers Posting of monthly, quarterly, and annual accruals Ownership of journal entry processing and coordination of supporting documentation Support and coordinate with external audit and tax partners Thoughtful reconciliation of balance sheet accounts as needed, including variance analysis Monthly sales tax calculations and investigation of any large variances Assist in supporting other team members, through teaching and collaboration Ad-hoc requests from management as needed Adhere to the Company's established policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
An ideal candidate will have experience with or understanding of: Capability to deliver on time results with high levels of accuracy Highly organized and process driven with exceptional follow-through abilities Flexibility to adapt and succeed in a rapid pace environment Ability to think outside the box Ability to navigate and resolve business issues, ensuring the correct accounting principles are applied Willingness to evaluate, troubleshoot, and implement long-term process and efficiency improvements
Education and Experience:
An ideal candidate will have the following education and experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting Thorough understanding of US GAAP Advanced proficiency in MS Office with emphasis in Excel (including, but not limited to complex formulas and pivot tables) Convenience store, fuel/gasoline industry experience is preferred, but not required Working environment and physical requirements: Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times. Must be able to remain stationary.
Travel:
Must be able to travel up to 10%.
