Job Description
Requirements Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to the Accounting Manager and broader accounting team, helping ensure consistent accounting practices and timely completion of accounting activities. Provide oversight and support for the monthly and year-end close processes, including review of the close calendar and resolution of complex accounting issues. Review and approve complex account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, amortization, depreciation, and other adjusting entries. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and management reporting. Research and analyze significant variances and provide insights to management to support business decision-making. Maintain strong internal controls and support compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies. Assist with external audits, including preparation and review of supporting schedules and documentation. Partner cross-functionally with marketing, information technology, tax, treasury, legal, and other functions to resolve issues and improve financial processes and controls. Oversee the accuracy of financial data integrations from payroll, banking, CRM, and other systems. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and improve the quality and timeliness of financial reporting. Lead or support special projects, system implementations, process redesigns, and other ad hoc financial analyses as needed. Serve as a senior accounting resource, providing guidance on complex transactions and accounting matters. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years of people leadership or direct management experience. Proven experience managing, mentoring, and developing accounting teams, with demonstrated success in building high-performing teams. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Hands-on experience with NetSuite, including financial reporting, general ledger, account reconciliations, workflows, and system integrations. Experience using NetSuite to support and improve accounting processes, reporting, and internal controls. Strong understanding of internal controls, account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet management. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues. Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate financial information effectively to both accounting and non-accounting stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement scalable accounting practices. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and NetSuite reporting tools.
