Site Accountant Location:
Hendersonville, TN Overview We are seeking an experienced Site Accountant to take ownership of the day-to-day accounting function for a local operating location. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing the general ledger and month-end close, preparing financial reporting, and improving accounting processes and controls. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, identifying accounting or process issues, and developing practical solutions that improve accuracy, consistency, and financial visibility. Key Responsibilities Own the day-to-day accounting function for the location. Maintain the general ledger and prepare and adjust journal entries. Manage month-end close and account reconciliations. Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, P&L statements, and other financial reports. Review financial records and general ledger activity for accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Reconcile bank accounts, cash disbursements, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts. Manage accounts payable activities, including invoice coding, account setup, and expense allocation. Support accounts receivable collections and resolve account discrepancies. Prepare tax filings and supporting documentation for applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Support annual audits and provide required documentation to outside auditors. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Develop and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and workflows. Help establish, validate, and report on measurable KPIs. Prepare financial analysis and reporting for leadership. Process payroll and provide general HR administrative support as needed. Support continuous improvement initiatives across the location. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close. Working knowledge of
U.S. GAAP.
Strong Excel and financial analysis skills. Experience identifying and implementing accounting or process improvements. Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and take initiative when issues arise. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accounting accuracy. Ability to clearly communicate financial information to operational and senior leadership. Experience with payroll and general HR support is a plus. QuickBooks experience preferred. Preferred Background Experience owning the full accounting cycle for a smaller business, branch, plant, or operating location is strongly preferred. Candidates who have helped improve accounting practices, strengthen controls, resolve accounting issues, and establish repeatable processes will be well suited for this position. Pay:
