full-time I am looking for a Senior Accountant to join a privately held, family-owned commercial real estate company based in Middle Tennessee that manages a growing multi-property portfolio. Why this role? High-visibility position reporting directly to the CFO Direct impact on a rapidly expanding commercial real estate business Strong long-term growth potential, including leadership opportunities as the team scales Fast-paced, entrepreneurial, culture-driven environment Key Responsibilities Prepare, compile, and analyze financial statements for a portfolio of commercial properties (retail, office, and other property types) Lead month-end close processes Partner with the property management team on budgeting and review budget-vs-actual variances Oversee rental revenue billing and annual CAM reconciliations/estimates Manage accounts receivable processes, including tenant follow-up Track and report on CAPEX spending Review lease agreements and maintain lease accounting setup Support internal and external audits with documentation and schedules Help implement and optimize real estate accounting processes and systems Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business (strongly preferred) Minimum 5 years of real estate accounting experience Experience managing financials for a commercial property portfolio Strong understanding of GAAP, lease accounting, and CAM reconciliations Experience with real estate accounting platforms (e.g., MRI, Yardi) a plus High-energy, entrepreneurial, and collaborative mindset
