About SRS Located in Portland, TN, SRS Accounting Services provides tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, advisory services, and emerging KPI-based reporting tools that help clients understand and improve their business performance. Our firm is built on training, mentorship, efficiency, and genuine relationships with our clients and community. Role Overview The Senior Accountant will support tax preparation, financial statement work, bookkeeping oversight, and client management. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment where quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement are expected and supported. Key Responsibilities Prepare complex individual and business tax returns (1040, 1120, 1120-S, 1065). Review staff-prepared returns for accuracy and completeness. Oversee bookkeeping workflows and review monthly financials. Assist with onboarding new clients and ensuring a smooth transition into our systems. Provide mentorship and training to junior staff. Communicate with clients regarding tax positions, financial questions, and planning opportunities. Participate in monthly internal training sessions and help refine firm processes. Support the implementation of advisory tools, KPIs, and client dashboards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required). CPA or CPA-eligible preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in public accounting. Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop) required. Experience with tax software (Lacerte preferred but not required). Strong understanding of accrual vs. cash accounting, bank reconciliations, and adjusting entries. Ability to review work, give clear feedback, and support staff development. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
