Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The Senior Accountant leads day-to-day finance for Casago Smoky Mountains and Casago Middle Tennessee, which together manage roughly 600 vacation rental homes across East Tennessee and Nashville. This role owns the monthly close, trust account reconciliation, and owner statements, and leads a three-person accounting team, reviewing all work before money moves. Reporting to a fractional CFO who provides periodic review and authorization, the Senior Accountant is the hands-on owner of accuracy, controls, and deadlines. Key Responsibilities Trust Accounting and Cash Prepare and own the monthly trust reconciliation (bank vs. book vs. owner and guest liability ledgers) for CFO sign-off Review team-prepared daily cash reports and bank and balance sheet reconciliations; maintain guest deposit liabilities Update the 13-week cash forecast weekly and the debt schedule monthly Owner Accounting Own monthly owner statements for ~600 homes: review inputs, clear exceptions, and approve before release Build the monthly owner payout batch for CFO release; handle owner offboarding, escalations, and negative balances Month-End Close and Reporting Run the close checklist to a fixed calendar; book accruals and adjusting entries; review intercompany and deferred revenue Prepare the CFO close package, budget vs. actual, lender and covenant reporting, and franchise royalty reporting Payables, Revenue, and Tax Release routine vendor and cleaner payments within Ramp limits; verify all vendor and owner bank detail changes Review OTA and processor payout matching, revenue reconciliations, and management fee calculations Review and submit state sales and local lodging tax filings; coordinate with the outside CPA on F&E, 1099s, and year-end Team Leadership Lead a three-person accounting team through a daily standup, task assignment, and review of their work Keep SOPs current for every recurring task and maintain a cross-training plan Qualifications Required Active CPA license 4+ years of experience at a CPA firm (audit, accounting and advisory, or tax) Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Strong reconciliation skills and comfort with high transaction volume Experience reviewing others' work and building checklists and SOPs; advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills Preferred Trust, escrow, or fiduciary accounting experience (property management, real estate, title, or legal) Vacation rental or hospitality experience; multi-jurisdiction sales and lodging tax experience Experience managing remote team members Experience with QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Guesty, and Breezeway What Success Looks Like Trust accounts are reconciled and signed off by business day 10 with zero unexplained variances Month-end close is complete, and owner statements and payouts are released on a fixed day each month All sales and lodging tax filings are on time with no penalties OTA and processor payouts are matched weekly; every recurring task has a current SOP and a named backup
