Job Description

Description We are looking for a Sr. Treasury Accountant to join a contract opportunity in Austin, Texas within the energy and natural resources sector. This role focuses on overseeing daily cash activity, supporting forecasting and reporting, and maintaining reliable banking operations in close partnership with accounting and finance teams. The ideal candidate brings strong treasury experience, sound attention to detail, and the ability to manage cash movements, reconciliations, and related documentation in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Review daily balances across multiple bank accounts and prepare regular cash position updates for internal stakeholders.
  • Complete weekly and monthly bank reconciliations, investigate outstanding items, and drive timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Execute scheduled transfers between accounts in coordination with finance leadership to support liquidity needs.
  • Assist with payment activity by maintaining accurate records for electronic transfers, checks, and other cash disbursements.
  • Track incoming funds, customer receipts, and reimbursement activity to ensure proper assignment and visibility by project or program.
  • Develop and refresh short- and medium-term cash forecasts using information from payables, receivables, and operational schedules.
  • Partner with Accounting and FP& A to analyze cash flow fluctuations, report liquidity trends, and highlight upcoming funding requirements.
  • Maintain treasury administration records, including bank account details, signer information, user access, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare journal entries related to banking activity such as fees, interest, and cash adjustments, and provide support during month-end close and audit requests.
  • Recommend improvements to treasury workflows, strengthen process documentation, and help enhance internal controls and payment efficiency. Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in corporate treasury, cash management, or treasury operations.
  • Strong knowledge of cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations, and daily liquidity monitoring.
  • Experience supporting payment processing, cash reporting, and treasury-related accounting entries.
  • Ability to work effectively with Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and FP& A teams.
  • Proficiency in maintaining banking records, access controls, and treasury documentation with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with careful attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to proactively escalate cash needs, variances, and exceptions.
