Job Description

As a member of the Financial Services department, Accountant II plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the University's financial records. This position performs professional-level accounting functions, including financial analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries. Accountant II also supports accounts receivable research, investment transaction recording and reconciliation, the treasury/banking operations. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills to assist with monthly and manual financial reporting and ensure compliance with state regulations and institutional policies. Financial Reconciliation & Reporting Perform reconciliations of the general ledger and trial balance, including cash balance determination, and reconcile system-of-record data with secondary systems. Journal Entry Processing Prepare and process journal entries accurately and within required timelines. Audit & Transaction Review Trace and verify financial transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness and proper recording. Accounts Receivable and Payable Support Monitor and manage accounts receivable and accounts payable activities, including research and issue resolution. Investment Accounting Maintain accurate and timely general ledger entries for all investment-related transactions and perform related reconciliations. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or a related business major or a combination of education, experience and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered. Two years in accounting/business office experience . Desired Qualifications Four (4) years of business experience. Four (4) years of ERP experience.
Key Competencies:
Excel and Database management experience Familiarity with MS Excel & Word & Outlook Able to analyze & reconcile accounts and data sets Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others Effective Communication skills
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift 25 lbs. and be able to perform a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing and walking between buildings.
Job Conditions:
Duties are typically performed within a professional office environment. Standard business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional extended hours based on reporting deadlines.
