full-time CHM Industries, Inc. is a vertically integrated manufacturer of steel monopole and advanced lighting products. CHM, a leader in lighting and steel structures since 1996, offers our clients quality products designed, manufactured, and supported within the United States at our Dallas-Fort Worth facilities. About the role CHM is seeing a seasoned Staff Accountant to support the accounting department's daily operations, month-end and year-end close processes, and financial reporting activities. While CHM is privately held, we operate with public company discipline. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, this role requires experience in SOX compliance. Also, this role requires strong attention to detail, solid understanding of accounting GAAP, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Perform account reconciliations (bank, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, fixed assets, etc.)
- Assist with general ledger maintenance and ensure accuracy of financial records
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
- Assist with inventory accounting and cost of goods sold analysis specific to manufacturing operations
- Reconcile intercompany transactions, if applicable
- Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules
- Support internal and external audit requests by preparing documentation and schedules
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and record depreciation
- Assist with sales tax filings and other compliance reporting
- Help maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2-3 years of accounting experience
- Working knowledge of GAAP & the full close process
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, etc.)
- Experience with ERP systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and take initiative Preferred Qualification s
- CPA candidate or actively pursuing CPA licensure
- Experience with cost accounting or standard costing in a manufacturing environment
- Manufacturing, Construction, or Projects-Based industry experience a plus
