Position Summary Subatomic Industries Corp. is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. This position will initially focus heavily on accounts payable while providing broad exposure to month-end close, financial reporting, ERP implementation, acquisitions, internal controls, process development, and technical accounting. We are looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career with the Company and has the desire and potential to grow into a future accounting leadership role as Subatomic continues to expand. Primary Responsibilities Accounting Operations Process vendor invoices, expense reports, ACH payments, wire transfers, and check runs Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies Assist with vendor onboarding, W-9 collection, and annual 1099 reporting Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation General Accounting Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations Assist with month-end and year-end close Maintain schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, leases, debt, and other balance sheet accounts Assist with financial reporting Process Improvement Document accounting procedures Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and internal controls Assist with ERP implementation and accounting system enhancements Help develop scalable accounting processes Corporate Accounting Support acquisitions and integrations Assist with technical accounting projects Participate in development of internal controls Perform special projects assigned by the CFO Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in accounting Approximately 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience Experience with accounts payable, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close Strong Excel skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work independently Preferred CPA candidate NetSuite experience Experience with ERP implementations Experience in a startup environment Experience developing and documenting accounting procedures Acquisition or integration experience Energy, mining, natural resources, manufacturing, or construction experience is a plus The Person We're Looking For Takes ownership and follows through without constant supervision Willingness to do whatever work is needed—from processing invoices to assisting with complex accounting projects Communicates professionally with employees, vendors, auditors, and management Works well with different personalities and builds positive relationships Comfortable stepping into leadership while remaining willing to handle routine work Dependable, accountable, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement What Success Looks Like During the first 12-24 months, successful performance will include: Building a thorough understanding of the Company's accounting processes and operations Consistently produces accurate, timely, and organized work with minimal supervision Becomes a trusted accounting resource across the organization Takes ownership of projects from start to finish Great at prioritizing multiple competing deadlines Builds positive relationships with employees, management, vendors, and auditors Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and attention to detail Consistently identifies problems and recommends improvements Equally comfortable processing invoices, preparing journal entries, participating in ERP implementations, and supporting strategic accounting projects Demonstrate leadership through actions rather than title Subatomic is building its finance organization from the ground up. This role provides exposure to ERP implementation, acquisitions, financial reporting, technical accounting, internal controls, and process development.
