Job Description

Job description Responsible for the overall management of the organization's budgets and oversight of accounting duties as assigned. Frequently exercises initiative and independent judgment. Establishes budgets, guides, and maintains supervisors/managers informed of the budget's goals and objectives. Provides technical support and monitors accounting personnel to ensure efficient and effective administration of accounting principles and current regulations. Responsibilities and Duties Develops, maintains, and communicates budget measures, goals, and objectives to supervisors/managers. Updates the department head on the status and progress of budgets. Supervises and assures proper procedures and quality work is performed by assigned personnel. Attends and participates in meetings, workshops, and training sessions as directed by the department head. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills Working knowledge of the generally accepted accounting principles and procedures, budgets, and record keeping. Knowledge of the latest version of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, etc. Ability to establish and maintain good working internal relations. Ability to exercise judgment in unusual or stressful situations. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in a professional manner. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Computer experience required, knowledge of MAS 90 preferred. Knowledge of budgets and application of budgetary policies and procedures preferred. Knowledge of administrative and financial procedures and practice, as well as principle techniques, terminology, and procedures of good accounting practices. Bilingual in English/Spanish. Required Education Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from an accredited college or university. Required Experience 0 - 1 year of experience in accounting for non-profit, governmental, and/or health care organizations.
