Job Description

Frisco CPA firm is looking for a Tax Accountant to join our team. As a Tax Accountant with Shifflett & Philips, you will work directly with entrepreneurs and small business owners to create and maintain company financials as well as perform tax planning, analysis and research work on numerous types of tax returns. A positive attitude and willingness to work necessary hours to complete assigned projects is a must.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine bookkeeping functions including data entry, journal entries, bank and credit card reconciliations. Maintain accurate general ledger accounts in QuickBooks Online and other accounting systems. Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts to support tax preparation. Prepare financial and tax related reports for internal review use. Develop and retain technical expertise Proactively identify and communicate issues as they arise Maintain a positive and "team player" attitude Become familiar with and adhere to the firm's policies and procedures Apply a working knowledge of various computer applications Willing to work necessary hours to complete assigned projects Minimum Requirements Must be authorized to work in the United States without future sponsorship Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Master's degree in accounting preferred 1+ years' experience working for a public accounting firm preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills Must be highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks in a complex, dynamic environment Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage time Display a professional and competent demeanor We offer a competitive salary with an extensive benefits package including health insurance, company paid professional memberships, and casual work environment.
